The first Journée de l’Art flamand, liégeois et belge of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) will take place on Saturday 28 April 2018. It aims to present to a wide audience the latest work of specialists active in the field of study of Flemish and Belgian art, and who are in some way connected to the ULB.
Speakers from different generations have been invited to participate in this day of lectures, which is committed to an intergenerational dialogue. If the study of art from Flanders, the Prince-Bishopric of Liège and Belgium has been a traditional research area at the ULB since the days of the late Suzanne Sulzberger and Paul Philippot, it evidently continues to appeal to young scholars.
The lectures, open to all, will be held in the AZ1.101 conference hall (ULB, Solbosch campus, Avenue Franklin Roosevelt 50, 1050 Brussels, building A, door Z). All speakers will present their research in French.

The Périer-D’Ieteren Foundation will be represented by its president, Catheline Périer-D’Ieteren, and by Louise Longneaux (doctoral thesis fellow), who will give a lecture on the cartoon of the Martyrdom of saint Paul by Pieter Coecke and on the Nájera altarpiece by Memling (with Bart Fransen) respectively, as well as by Valentine Henderiks who will preside over the afternoon session.
