NPO Félicien Rops Fund
The NPO Fonds Félicien Rops was created in 1994 to save the Castle of Thozée in the Namur province, a residence the artist was particularly fond of, and where he used to invite his friends – notably artists and writers such as Charles De Coster, Octave Pirmez and Charles Baudelaire. At Thozée, Rops also worked on his series of plates titled Les Pédagogiques while giving engraving lessons.
Appointed as sole legatee of the artist, the Félicien Rops Fund aims to revive this memory site, listed as historic monument by the Walloon Region, through exhibitions as well as drawing and engraving workshops run by artist-teachers.
