In 2023, the Foundation supported SOS Children’s Villages Belgium’s project to improve the living conditions of talibé children, who grow up in Senegal’s daaras (religious schools) and are often forced to beg to make up for their limited means.
The project establishes community schools to prepare children for a regular education, and helps to set up a source of income to meet the children’s basic needs (hygiene, health, clothes, meals, etc.) and to strengthen the children’s links with their families by encouraging parents to become involved in their development.
