The du Quesnoy workshop in Brussels
This book, written by Géraldine Patigny, takes a fresh look at the biography and production of Jérôme du Quesnoy the Older and Jérôme du Quesnoy the Younger. In particular, it analyses the dynamism of Brussels sculpture in the first half of the 17th century and the corporation of the Quatre Couronnés, as well as the existence of an intergenerational transmission between father and son within the workshop. The originality of this one is clearly demonstrated by the extensive catalogue raisonné of the work of both artists, whose specific characteristics are highlighted.
